The Washington Post
I was approached by The Washington Post in Spring 2019 to represent San Francisco as a local illustrator for their new travel guide. “By The Way” is a travel site with insights from local journalists and photographers covering everything from places to eat and favorite neighborhoods. The project also involved 50 different artists and designers representing their respective city guide page.
Other than being asked to stick with the specified color palette, I was given full creative freedom to create an illustration that best represented my city and lettering style. Since the Golden Gate Bridge is an iconic landmark of San Francisco, and the burnt red/orange color was a perfect fit, I decided to include it as the main background of the illustration.
